I think some of the comments on this forum are bullshit. All I can do is speak from experience. I just went over 66,000 miles in just under 2.5 years of riding the Savage. Other than a minor fuel flow problem the bike has run flawlessly. Yeah, sure..the Savage engine makes a lot of valve train noise, backfires some, but so what? As long as she gets me where I want to go, I don't care. I think those of you that say the Savage is a lemon are wrong. I think it's probably due to owner neglect. How often due you check your oil level? never? How about adjusting the valves once in a while? Or keeping the belt properly tensioned? Ever check the battery fluie? Does the bike sit all of the time? Try taking better care of it instead of treating like some disposable consumer item and it might perform better. As far as her rideability, a single is a single. If you can't handle riding on a real bike..go get the old man's cadillac...a gold wing or something. But please, if you can't handle getting your hands dirty once in a while, get outta here and stop whinning.
